West was signed to two 10-day contracts before agreeing to a contract for the rest of the year on Monday. He played college basketball at Georgia Tech and spent two seasons with the Hawks before being cut this year in training camp.
Considered a defensive specialist, West has averaged 0.9 points and 1.6 rebounds in eight games so far this season.
