The 34-year-old Iverson hobbled into the Sixers' locker room after their loss to Toronto on Friday night. He says he had the knee drained again before the game and it continues to give him trouble.
Iverson is second in voting behind Miami's Dwyane Wade for East guards. Iverson says he would "absolutely" attend the Feb. 14 game at Arlington, Texas.
"The fans make us," Iverson said. "It's a special accomplishment when people want to see you play."
He added that he hasn't entirely ruled out playing. He just wants to be smart about his decision.
"We're going to make the best decision for this team," he said.
Iverson said his knee had been feeling better, but flared up after Philadelphia's loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. He said the knee swelled up the next two days.
He scored a season-high 22 points on 7-of-13 shooting in Philadelphia's 108-106 loss.
"I was fine for I guess three quarters," Iverson said. "In that last quarter, it was just starting to wear on me and I couldn't move the way I was accustomed to moving."
The 76ers said Iverson was kneed in the left knee in the third quarter, aggravating his arthritis. He will not travel with the team for their game Saturday in Detroit, where he was unhappy last season with being reduced to a bench player and missed most of the second half of the season with a back injury.
