Sprained wrist sidelines Jazz's Williams vs. Grizzlies

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Deron Williams' sprained right wrist kept him out of the Utah Jazz's game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.

Williams warmed up prior to the game with a brace, but he was only able to shoot with his left hand. Tuesdays MRI on the wrist was negative. Williams is listed as day-to-day and plans to make the trip to Memphis for Utahs next game on Friday.

Ronnie Price, who is nursing a sore left shoulder, started in Williams place and Sundiata Gaines, a recent 10-day contract signee, played in his first NBA game as the reserve point guard.

Williams is averaging 19.5 points and 9.8 assists this season. The Jazz were 1-1 when Williams missed two games in November for personal reasons.
