Bobcats' Felton helped off court after spraining ankle

ATLANTA (AP) -- Charlotte guard Raymond Felton was helped off the court Friday night after spraining his right ankle against the Hawks.

With less than a minute left in the first quarter, Felton was trying to cut past Jamal Crawford when he stepped on the Atlanta player's left foot and twisted the ankle. He went down in severe pain, then was taken to the locker room with arms wrapped around the shoulders of two team officials, putting no weight on his foot.

The fourth-year point guard came into the night averaging 12.7 points a game. X-rays were negative, and Felton planned to test the ankle at halftime to see if he could return.
