Knee injury forces Wizards' Butler to miss game

NEW YORK (AP) -- Caron Butler missed the Washington Wizards' game against the Knicks on Wednesday night because of a bruised left knee.

Butler was hurt Monday night in the Wizards' 99-88 loss to Boston, in the same collision that injured Celtics All-Star Paul Pierce. Pierce has a sprained left foot.

The Wizards said Butler was day-to-day.

DeShawn Stevenson started at guard for Washington against the Knicks, while Mike Miller moved into Butler's small forward spot.
