Suns trade Alando Tucker for Jason Hart and more

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired forward Alando Tucker, a second-round draft pick and cash from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for backup point guard Jason Hart.

The Suns then waived Hart. Tucker was originally selected by the Suns in the first round of the 2007 draft at No. 29 overall out of Wisconsin. Tucker was the Big Ten player of the year and a first-team All American at Wisconsin in 2007.

In two-plus years with Phoenix, Tucker played in 47 games. He averaged 3.9 points in 6.5 minutes in 11 games this season.

Hart appeared in only one game for the rebuilding Timberwolves this season. The nine-year veteran served as a mentor of sorts for younger point guards Jonny Flynn and Ramon Sessions.

The deal was announced hours after the Timberwolves posted a release on their website saying Hart was being traded to New Orleans for Devin Brown. But the release was premature and that deal never materialized.
