Raptors stay hot at home

Chris Bosh had 23 points and 13 rebounds, Andrea Bargnani scored 22 and the Raptors used a big second quarter to beat the Dallas Mavericks, 110-88, yesterday in Toronto.

Jose Calderon had 15 points and Jarrett Jack scored 11 for the Raptors, who took the lead early in the second and never trailed again, leading by as many as 26. Toronto won for the seventh time in eight home games, moving to 21-20 overall.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 points and Jason Terry had 18 for the Mavericks, who have lost 3-of-4 entering tonight’s road game against the Celtics [team stats]. Shawn Marion scored 15 and Jason Kidd had 12 points and nine assists.

Toronto missed 12 of its first 15 shots and trailed 23-20 after one, but took command with an impressive second, making 15-of-23 field-goal attempts and outscoring Dallas, 34-18. Bosh had 11 points in the quarter, and Calderon had nine points and six assists.

The Mavericks showed their frustration as Toronto pulled away. Nowitzki received a technical foul for arguing a charging call in the third and Terry got one for arguing in the fourth.

Nuggets 119, Jazz 112 - Carmelo Anthony scored 37 points and Chauncey Billups added 29 as host Denver snapped Utah’s four-game winnng streak.

Ty Lawson returned to Denver’s rotation after missing four games with a sprained ankle and helped steady a sometimes erratic offense, scoring 11 points with an assist. Nene added 18 points for the Nuggets, who improved to 3-0 against the Jazz and won the season series - which could pivotal come playoff time.

Point guard Deron Williams (sprained wrist) and forward Andrei Kirilenko (hyperextended knee) were both in Utah’s starting lineup despite playing the night before in a 112-95 victory over Milwaukee in Salt Lake City. Williams led the Jazz with 23 points but Kirilenko scored just 7.
